Pakistan calls for immediate end to violence in Sudan, unhindered aid delivery

Summary Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar, said that Pakistan will continue to support international and regional efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in Sudan.

NEW YORK (Dunya News) - Pakistan on Friday strongly condemned the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) for carrying out attacks on civilian infrastructure in Sudan and reaffirmed support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Speaking at a United Nations Security Council meeting on the situation in Sudan, Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar, called for an immediate end to the violence and the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid.

He said that attacks on schools, hospitals, markets, and places of worship are highly condemnable.

Asim Iftikhar emphasized that protecting Sudan's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national institutions is essential. He stated that there is no military solution to the conflict in Sudan and that achieving stability is a shared responsibility of the international community.

He further said that Pakistan will continue to support international and regional efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in Sudan.
