Summary Secretary EC said the 2008 polls contested on bogus voting lists have constitutional protection.
Final voting lists have been prepared for by-elections, Ishtiaq Ahmad said.While talking to Dunya News, the Secretary Election Commission said that 37 million bogus votes already have been cancelled on the direction of the Supreme Court.The printing of original voting lists is underway by NADRA which would hand them over to the Election Commission after completion.The secretary said that the issue of bogus degrees has become a thing of the past as the cases of more than 22 parliamentarians with bogus degrees have been issued to the DPOs for legal proceedings.He said that final voting lists for by-polls to be held on February 25 have been prepared, he concluded.
