KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Sindh Assembly’s Standing Committee on Home Affairs is scheduled to meet on June 4 (Thursday) to review the internal security and law-and-order situation in the province.

According to sources, the meeting will be chaired by member of the Sindh Assembly Faryal Talpur. Members of the National Assembly, senators, members of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Interior, and senior parliamentarians have been specially invited to attend the meeting.

The meeting will also be attended by Sindh Excise Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla and Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab.

Sources said that members of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Interior, including Naveed Qamar, Nabeel Gabol, and Abdul Qadir Patel, have also been invited to participate.

The committee will review measures for conducting drug testing to prevent drug use in educational institutions, while the Excise Department will brief the committee on the steps currently being taken in this regard.

Police officials will also update the committee on the progress of the investigation into the Pinky case.

The meeting will be attended by the Inspector General (IG) of Sindh Police, as well as the heads of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Special Branch, and Crime Investigation Agency (CIA).
