Summary Deputy PM Ishaq Dar and US Secretary Marco Rubio discussed bilateral ties, regional stability, trade and counterterrorism cooperation.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington, according to the Foreign Office spokesperson.
The Foreign Office said both leaders expressed satisfaction over positive progress in bilateral relations between Pakistan and the United States.
The two foreign ministers also exchanged views on regional and global developments.
According to the spokesperson, Marco Rubio appreciated Pakistan’s mediation efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability.
Both sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including trade and investment.
The Foreign Office said the ministers also agreed to enhance cooperation in security and counterterrorism, while reaffirming their commitment to advancing the Pakistan-US partnership.
During the meeting, Ishaq Dar said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held meetings with investors during his visit to China and remained committed to attracting foreign investment.
The deputy prime minister added that several historic business-to-business agreements were signed during the prime minister’s China visit and that Pakistan was working to provide a conducive environment for international investors.
