IG Sindh says more prominent names may surface in Pinky case

KARACHI (Dunya News) – IG Sindh Police Javed Alam Odho said that many prominent names could emerge in the case involving Anmol alias Pinky.

Speaking to traders during a visit to the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the IG Sindh Police said that efforts were underway, with the support of the Sindh government, to eliminate narcotics, adding that more than 1,000 criminals had been arrested.

He said there is a difference between drug users and drug dealers, stressing that those involved in the drug trade would not be spared.

He added that a task force was being formed and urged citizens to share any relevant information.

Speaking about the Pinky case, Javed Alam Odho said that Pinky mostly lived in Lahore and that several well-known individuals were linked to the case. He warned that many more names could surface, while requesting the media not to glamorize Pinky to the extent that “a film is made about her.”

The IG Sindh further said that Operation Nijat Mehran had been launched in the riverine areas, during which more than 600 dacoits were either killed, arrested, or surrendered. He added that there are now no “no-go areas” left in Sindh and that the law and order situation in Karachi has improved significantly compared to the past.
