LAHORE (Dunya News) - A ban has been imposed on entry of vehicles loaded with sacrificial animals on motorways.

According to a spokesperson for the Central Region, the decision has been made to maintain public safety and traffic flow during Eidul Azha. Overloaded and unfit vehicles can cause serious accidents.

The spokesperson said that vehicles loaded with animals will be diverted to alternative and safer routes. In the past, such vehicles had caused several dangerous accidents on motorways.

On the other hand, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have been instructed to set up check posts at entry points.

A spokesperson for the Central Region said action has also been ordered against illegal parking near livestock markets and interchanges.

In addition, strict legal action will be taken against violations of traffic laws and loading standards. The aim of the ban is to prevent accidents and maintain traffic flow on motorways, the spokesman added.
