Sindh govt bans unapproved animal hide collection during Eidul Azha

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Sindh government has issued a code of conduct regarding the collection of sacrificial animal hides during Eidul Azha.

Under the new regulations, collecting hides without permission from the commissioner or deputy commissioner has been banned. Only registered charities, seminaries, and welfare organisations will be allowed to collect animal hides.

The code of conduct also states that banned organisations will not be permitted to collect hides under any name. Setting up camps and displaying banners for hide collection will also remain prohibited.

Authorities have imposed a ban on the use of flags, loudspeakers, and promotional displays on vehicles and buildings during the hide collection campaign. Legal action will be taken against individuals involved in forced collection of hides.

According to the Sindh Home Department Sindh Home Department, hides collected in violation of the rules will be confiscated and handed over to authorised institutions, while law enforcement agencies will monitor the entire process.

The government has also suspended all weapon permits from 10 to 12 Zilhajj. Permission from commissioners and deputy commissioners will be mandatory for collective sacrificial arrangements, while cases will be registered against violators of the code of conduct.
