Summary Police fired teargas, water canon during clash with participants of Pasban rally in Karachi.
Karachi police arrested Dr Fouzia Siddique, sister of US-detained Dr Afia Siddiqui, and Altaf Shakoor after clash with riot police during PASBAN rally demanding Dr Afia Siddiqui’s exoneration.According to details, the rally, bound for US consulate, was intercepted by riot police on Abdullah Haroon Road. Upon resistance, police resorted to tear gas shelling, baton charge and also fired water-cannon to disperse the participants of the rally.The police held a number of activists and leaders including Dr Fauzia. Mammoth traffic jams were also witnessed around the area of the clashes.
