ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The national sacrifice of citizen Liaqat Shaheed, son of Kareem Elahi, who stopped a suicide terrorist and saved precious lives, is being widely acknowledged at the national level.

On the recommendation of the Prime Minister, President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the awarding of Sitara-e-Shujaat to Liaqat Shaheed.

It is worth noting that Liaqat Shaheed sacrificed his life to avert a major loss of life, and his courage, sense of duty, and sacrifice are being hailed as a shining example for the nation.

The approval of this award by the President on the Prime Minister’s recommendation reflects official recognition of his extraordinary bravery.

Sitara-e-Shujaat is the second-highest civilian award for bravery in Pakistan. Liaqat Shaheed demonstrated exceptional courage by confronting the suicide attacker and thwarting his malicious intent, symbolizing the nation’s unwavering resolve against terrorism.

Meanwhile, the family of Liaqat Shaheed has departed for Islamabad to receive the award. His mother, son, and brother will receive the Sitara-e-Shujaat from the President.

The family has been provided full official protocol during their travel, accompanied by the Assistant Commissioner of Jand, while an elite force unit has also been deployed for their security and facilitation.

The award, approved on the Prime Minister’s recommendation, will be received by the family later today in Islamabad.

The recognition of Liaqat Shaheed’s sacrifice stands not only as an honor but as a salute from the entire nation.
