KARACHI (Dunya News) - Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Tuesday said that MQM-P is a party of ordinary people and it does not need electable.

Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that "electable" has become a derogatory term in politics.

He said politics has become so expensive that the price of a Senate seat has reached up to Rs 740 million. “If we had sold two Senate seats, we could have earned Rs 500 million rupees for each,” he added.

Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui further said that tickets were given to Faisal Sabzwari and to a woman with a double master’s degree who teaches at the primary level. He added that he himself contested an election once and then supported someone else to contest in the next one.
