LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that it is not large resources but big ideas that can change the world.
In her message on the International Day of Creativity and Innovation, she said the purpose of this day is to encourage expanding thinking and adopting new ideas. She stressed that understanding the importance of creative thinking is essential for human development, problem-solving, and building a better future, while listening to others’ ideas and working in teams promotes innovation.
She said that the creative abilities and innovative ambitions of youth play a key role in social progress. The use of technology and innovation in development projects and the education sector is a vital need of the time.
The Chief Minister added that young people in Pakistan are making notable progress in e-commerce and artificial intelligence fields. She said creativity is not only an inborn ability but also a habit that grows through hard work and opportunities, and the Punjab government is taking practical steps to promote IT, AI, and modern technology in the province.
She highlighted that the first Nawaz Sharif IT City of Punjab’s history is being established in Lahore. With the cooperation of Google, free certification courses have also been launched for more than 100,000 students. Efforts are being made to train students in IT technologies, while smart IT systems are being introduced in health and other government departments.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif further said that the launch of electric buses is modernizing Punjab’s transport system, while high-speed rail between Lahore and Rawalpindi and new local routes are also bringing innovation to the transport network.
