Summary Karachi Matric Board says female students won’t be asked to remove veils during exams; ensures respectful checking, female staff deployment and fair process at centres
KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Chairman of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (Matric Board) has clarified that female students appearing in ninth and tenth grade exams will not be asked to remove their veils at examination centres.
According to sources, the chairman said that the dignity and privacy of female students will be fully respected at all exam centres.
The decision comes after recent complaints that strict or inappropriate checking procedures were being carried out with female students, raising concerns among parents.
Under the new directives, checking of female candidates will be conducted in a respectful and dignified manner, and female staff will be deployed for this purpose.
The chairman stated that these measures aim to maintain students’ personal dignity and religious sensitivity while ensuring transparency in the examination process and preventing cheating.
