KARACHI (Dunya News) - Another clash broke out during a meeting of the Karachi City Council in Karachi on Friday, where members got into a physical scuffle.

According to sources, slogans of “Give water to Karachi” and “Give rights to Karachi” were raised by the members of Jamaat-e-Islami during speech of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) member Najmi Alam. In response, the PPP members chanted “Jeay Bhutto” slogan.

Sources said that the members of Jamaat-e-Islami and Pakistan People’s Party also got into physical altercation, and punches were also thrown.

Mayor of Karachi Murtaza Wahab said in a press conference that the approach of Jamaat-e-Islami has been rejected by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf as well, which also condemned their behaviour. He added that such double standards cannot continue and noted that they had been in power for twelve years.

He further said that he exposed their hypocrisy, and during Najmi Alam speech, they react negatively.
