Summary More than 10,000 Pakistanis have returned from Iran via the Taftan Border, with authorities ensuring smooth immigration and security arrangements amid regional tensions.
LAHORE (Dunya News) - The repatriation of Pakistani nationals from Iran continues as more than 10,000 individuals have crossed back into Pakistan due to the worsening situation in the Middle East.
According to Federal Investigation Agency spokesperson Muhammad Bahram Khan, immigration and border management arrangements at the Taftan Border have been made effective and fully operational in light of the evolving circumstances.
He stated that passengers arriving at the border are being provided with necessary facilities along with comprehensive security. Since 28 February, a total of 10,619 travellers have been recorded entering Pakistan through the Taftan crossing.
The returning individuals include Pakistani citizens, students, pilgrims, and other travellers. A significant number have arrived due to the prevailing regional conditions.
Muhammad Bahram Khan added that FIA immigration staff are working round the clock at the Taftan Border to ensure timely processing, clearance, and verification of travel documents. Measures are also in place to facilitate passengers and maintain smooth operations.
The FIA spokesperson further noted that close coordination is being maintained with federal and provincial authorities to ensure the safe and organised movement of people across the border.
