Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has reaffirmed support for the creation of Saraiki province saying all the conspiracies against the creation of this province will be thwarted.Talking to media in Islamabad this afternoon he said negotiations in this connection are in progress and he would work vigorously for the creation of the new province.The Prime Minister said some quarters are demanding the revival of Bahawalpur State ‚ but it is impossible because there could not be state within the state. He said Bahawalpur would be made part of the Saraiki province.To a question about his appearance in the Supreme Court the Prime Minister replied that the judicial process would be continued.To another question‚ the Prime Minister lamented that unfortunately not a single parliament was allowed to complete its tenure and the continuity was broken. He said if the parliaments had been given their full time‚ then we would not face the current crisis situation.About the 20th amendment in the Constitution‚ the Prime Minister said that negotiations are underway with the Oppositionto pass it unanimously from the National Assembly. He said Pakistan Peoples Party would continue its work for an Independent Election Commission‚ because it suffered worse always in the polls by rigging of the votes. He said he strongly desires that the election should be conducted transparent‚ fair and free.He said first there would be Senate elections followed by the Federal Budget and then there would be negotiations for the holding of elections.Answering a question‚ the Prime Minister said Pakistan is in favour of an Afghan owned and Afghan led government because it is in our best interest and also in the best interest of the region and our neighbours. He said normalcy in Afghanistan will also help promote peace and stability in Pakistan.Responding to a question the Prime Minister said the government closed the NATO supplies after attack on Salala Check post and now the parliamentary committee on national security will take a final decision in this regard which would reflect our national aspirations.
