KARACHI (Dunya News) – Authorities have closed major roads in Karachi as precautionary measure ahead of potential protests following the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei in the US-Iran airstrikes.

According to traffic police, both roads leading to and from Sultanabad Traffic Section towards Mai Kolachi have been blocked. Similarly, the roads from MT Khan Road towards Jinnah Bridge and from PIDC to Jinnah Bridge are also closed for traffic.

Officials have stated that traffic coming from Jinnah Bridge is being diverted towards I.I. Chundrigar Road. Vehicles arriving from Boat Basin are being redirected for a U-turn at Mai Kolachi Phatak and sent back. Additionally, traffic from PIDC is being moving back from Park Cut.

Furthermore, the road on Shahrah-e-Faisal leading from FTC to Metro Pole has been barricaded. The road near FTC has been closed since the previous day, and traffic heading towards FTC is being redirected towards Saddar via Gorakhpur cemetery for a U-turn.
