The revival of Basant celebrations coincides with the return of Jashn-e-Baharan, bringing back the traditional vibrancy associated with the spring season in Lahore. Streets adorned with decorative lights, the sight of kites dotting the sky, and the enthusiasm of Lahoris reflect the city’s deep-rooted cultural identity.
Basant has historically been one of Lahore’s most anticipated festivals, marking the arrival of spring and drawing large crowds to public spaces. The imagery of colourful kites, music, and communal celebrations has long been tied to the city’s social fabric.
