KARACHI (Dunya News) - Deputy Commissioner South Javed Nabi Khoso on Wednesday said that the search operation at the Gul Plaza site has entered its final phase, and it will not stop as long as even a single person remains missing.

“Until even a single missing person remains unaccounted for, the building cannot be demolished. Once all procedures are completed, the entire structure will be brought down,” he reiterated.

He informed that two dumpers carrying debris from Gul Plaza have gone missing and an investigation into the matter is underway.

It is worth noting that after pillars were damaged due to debris from Gul Plaza, Rampa Plaza has been temporarily closed and declared unsafe by the SBCA. Notices have been issued to the plaza administration and shop owners.

Officials said that unsafe parts of the affected structure must be repaired immediately adding that the building will not be allowed to be used until the competent authority declares it safe.
