KARACHI (Dunya News) – Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan (TTAP) has expressed sorrow and grief over the loss of human lives and property in Gul Plaza blaze, criticising the relevant authorities for their alleged delayed response to the natural disaster.

TTAP leader Mahmood Achakzai expressed regret over the tragedy and demanded fair and impartial inquiry into the inferno.

Talking to the media here on Sunday, Mahmood Khan Achakzai expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and said, "Why did the fire brigade vehicles arrive late? There should be an investigation, and steps should be taken to prevent such incidents."

TTAP leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas said that the delay in extinguishing the fire was due to incompetence, adding those responsible for the negligence should be brought to justice, and large buildings should have fire extinguishers.

Firefighting teams continued operations late Sunday night to extinguish a blaze that has been raging since the previous night at the Gul Plaza shopping mall, as Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and rescuers confirmed eight fatalities and said that more than 58 people were still reported missing.
