Summary Opposition members in Senate staged walkout against announcement of rise in POL prices.
During the session chaired by Senate Chairman Farooq H Naek, members of PML-N Zafar Ali Shah and Ishaq Dar said on a point of order that Federal Minister for petroleum Dr Asim has created supported hoarders by announcing increase in POL price earlier before February 1. This will bring a storm of price hike in the country, they said.Leader of the House Nair Bukhari said the Federal Minister for Petroleum should not have made the announcement.Talking to media outside Parliament, Federal Law Minister Maula Bukhsh Chandio said that Dr Asim Hussain’s announcement of increase in POL prices was wrong as OGRA has the authority to make announcement
