Summary A Sessions Court in Lahore reserved judgment against Secretary Health and MS PIC in PIC deaths case.

The petitioner argued before the Additional Sessions Judge Arif Hameed that 104 patients died at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) due to incompetency of Secretary Health and Medical Superintendent (MS) PIC as spurious medicines were used in treatment of heart patients. The petitioner prayed for the registration of a case against Secretary Health and MS PIC in this regard.Meanwhile, the SHO Shadman submitted a written statement before the court saying that there is no doubt that the deaths were caused due to reaction of medicines, however inquiry is still going on to find the culprits responsible for this tragedy.The court reserved its judgment after hearing the arguments.
