No support for undemocratic step: Asfandyar

Summary ANP chief Asfandyar Wali said his party would not favour any undemocratic step.

While addressing a public gathering on the death anniversary of Bach Khan and Khan Abdul Wali Khan at Shah Tehmas Stadium Peshawar, he said that some political parties are creating misunderstandings and confusions about democracy but no institution would be allowed to meddle with or interrupt with the affairs of any institution, he said.He said that Bacha Khan and Wali Khan always promoted the philosophy of non-violence.In the same footprints, Wali Khan opposed the decision of Afghan War in 1980 but the people who sidelined this philosophy are following the same pattern.He said that he is not satisfied with the reforms introduced in FATA, adding that the people of FATA should decide either they would like to survive with KP or desirous for making their separate province. He termed 2012 as year of FATA.He said that he is ready for dialogue with miscreants if they disarm themselves while accepting government writ.He said that Peshawar Airport would be named after the name of Bacha Khan with the approval of the federal government.Begum Nasim Wali Khan was also president. CM Amir Haider Hoti also addressed the public gathering.
