Banking Court accepts interim bail of Khurram Rasool

Summary Banking Court has accepted bail of Khurram Rasool, ex-media coordinator of Prime Minister Gilani.

Khurram Rasool said that he had applied for bail and had done nothing wrong. He said he was elated to get the interim bail from the Banking Court in Lahore, Dunya News reported.His interim bail has been accepted till Feb 02, while the Supreme Court had ordered his arrest. Khurram is accused of embezzling Rs 710 million of a private bank. Earlier, the Lahore High Court had rejected the protective bail plea of PM’s former media coordinator on his non-presence in LPG quota fraud case.Two-member bench of Lahore High Court heard the petition and summoned NAB officials.During proceedings the NAB officials informed the court that Khurram Rasool is involved in Rs710 million LPG quota fraud.Khurram Rasool’s counsel prayed to court that his client feared security risk that is why he has never appeared in the court.In response the court while expressing dissatisfaction rejected the plea of protective bail by Khurram Rasool.
