ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The British journal Financial Times has described Field Marshal Asim Munir as an expert in “multilateral foreign policy who has emerged as the most effective strategic leader in the changing global system” while changing global politics has opened a new but difficult era for the middle powers.

Financial Times said that these developments have proved quite complex for middle powers, and that Field Marshal Asim Munir is among the most successful multi-aligners among middle powers.

The journal noted that Pakistan’s army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, has been the most effective in aligning with US President Donald Trump’s informal style.

According to Financial Times, Field Marshal Asim Munir represents a clear example of a successful multilateral strategist for middle powers, and the journal described him as a strong model of effective middle-power diplomacy.

The newspaper said that Pakistan’s leadership remained actively engaged in maintaining simultaneous relations with Washington, Beijing, Riyadh, and Tehran, and that Field Marshal Asim Munir has created new diplomatic opportunities for Pakistan amid rapidly changing global politics.

It added that Field Marshal Asim Munir has effectively advanced Pakistan’s diplomacy in a shifting global environment, noting that timely cordiality and a flexible diplomatic approach with Trump proved effective. The report said this diplomatic success left India disappointed.

Financial Times also stated that the middle-power game has proven more difficult than expected for India. According to the journal, India failed to align with changing global conditions and Trump’s style, and as a result of this diplomatic shortcoming, India has faced challenges in pursuing a middle-power strategy.
