MQM-P warns of taking to streets against extortion

Addressing a ceremony, Farooq Sattar said that the government should take concrete steps against extortionists.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) senior leader Dr Farooq Sattar has claimed that extortion has once again increased in Karachi and warned of taking to streets if extortion is not stopped, Dunya News reported on Friday.
Addressing a ceremony, Farooq Sattar said that the government should take concrete steps against extortionists. He stated that whoever the extortionist is affiliated with, their identity should be made public, adding that they now have no option left except to come out onto the roads.
The senior MQM leader also said that the issue of missing sewer manhole covers is a major problem in Karachi. He claimed that they the Prime Minister has issued Rs. 40 billion fund for Karachi and added that manhole covers would also be installed. He also emphasized the need to create new administrative units, saying that new administrative units should be formed in the country.
