ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - President Asif Ali Zardari has approved key legislations while returning the Danish Schools Authority Bill 2025 to the prime minister for reconsideration.

According to a press release issued by the Presidency, the president sent the Danish Schools Authority Bill back to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for review. President emphasized that the establishment of Danish schools in the provinces requires prior consultation with the respective provincial governments.

Zardari noted that education is a devolved subject and any initiative affecting the provinces must be undertaken in coordination with them to ensure consensus and smooth implementation.

President highlighted the constitutional requirement of involving provinces in policymaking on matters falling within their jurisdiction. The bill will now be reconsidered by the government in light of the president’s observations.

At the same time, President Zardari, acting on the advice of the prime minister, approved several key legislative measures. These include the Qanun-e-Shahadat (Amendment) Bill, which introduces amendments to the country’s law of evidence.

The president also gave his assent to the King Hamad University of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences Bill, paving the way for the formal establishment and functioning of the institution. In addition, he approved the National Commission for Minorities Rights Bill, aimed at strengthening the protection and promotion of minority rights in the country.
