ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A crucial meeting was held in Islamabad between Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and British High Commissioner Jane Marriott, during which Pakistan-UK relations, security cooperation, and various matters of mutual interest were discussed in detail.

The meeting also touched upon the repatriation of Pakistanis living illegally in the UK. The Government of Pakistan handed over formal extradition documents for Shahzad Akbar and Adil Raja to the British High Commissioner.

On the occasion, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that both individuals are wanted in several cases in Pakistan and therefore need to be returned to the country at the earliest. He also provided solid evidence against Pakistani nationals who are living abroad and spreading propaganda against the state and its institutions.

The minister said that while freedom of expression is respected, fake news is a serious issue for every country, and no state can tolerate baseless allegations and abusive campaigns launched from abroad.

He added that British cooperation in bringing back those involved in anti-Pakistan propaganda would be highly valuable.

Mohsin Naqvi further stated that the formal extradition process has already been initiated through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Federal Interior Secretary Muhammad Khurram Agha and other relevant officials were also present during the meeting.
