Summary Counsel for Mansoor Ijaz said that his client will not appear before parliamentary committee.
Akram Sheikh, counsel for Mansoor Ijaz said parliamentary committee has no authority to summon Mansoor Ijaz.Earlier, Parliamentary Committee on National Security summoned Mansoor Ijaz on January 26 to record his statement in memogate scandal.Talking to Dunya News, Ijaz’s lawyer said that if committee wants to question Ijaz, it should seek appointment; otherwise the committee has no constitutional right to summon him.He further said that committee can only ask for statement of Mansoor Ijaz from judicial commission to make a record.On the other hand, Chairman of the committee Raza Rabbani while talking to Dunya News said Mansoor Ijaz, DG ISI and Hussain Haqqani were asked to submit written statement by January 24.
