Summary WAPDA employees protested against non-technical Chief Executive and privatisation of department.
In this regard employees arranged rallies in different cities including Lahore, Multan, Quetta, Nowshehro Feroz and Hyderabad.In Lahore, WAPDA Hydro Electric Union held a protest demonstration in front of WAPDA House while Paigham Union arranged a rally in front of the LESCO head office.Likewise, a huge rally was held in Multan attended by a large number of employees who also observed a sit-in in front of Chief Office.In Quetta, WAPDA employees raised voice against law and order situation and condemned abduction of innocent citizens for ransom which has become hallmark of day.In Nowshehro Feroz, a huge rally was organised by employees who condemned the decision to privatize the department after liquidation of PEPCO.They locked their offices and shouted slogans against short-sightedness of rulers who have nothing to do with the common interest.In Hyderabad, employees held a pen drop strike and took out a rally started from Labour Hall to the Hyderabad Press Club.WAPDA employees protested against appointment of non-technical Chief Executive and privatisation of department.
