Funeral prayers of Mukarram Khan offered

Mukarram Khan was shot in the head while praying in a mosque close inShabqadar area of Mohmand Agency, near Peshawar city.The two attackers came on a motorbike, fired bullets at Aatif in the mosque and escaped. He suffered bullet wounds to the head, local police officer Zahir Shah said.Another police official confirmed the incident.Aatif was hit in the head and rushed to a hospital in Peshawar. The prayer leader was also injured, said district police chief Nisar Khan Marwat.Mukkaram Khan was also working as a reporter for Voice of Americas Pashtu language Deewa radio station.A spokesman for the Taliban called an Associated Press reporter to claim responsibility for the killing.Insanullah Ihsan of the Taliban said the militants had warned Mukkaram Khan a number of times to stop anti-Taliban reporting, but he didnt do so.PMGilani has regretted over the death of the bold journalist who gave his life for his mission with the direction that killers be broght to justice soon.Last year, seven journalists were killed in Pakistan, making it the deadliest country for journalists for the second year in a row.
