President Zardari, COAS Gen Kayani hold meeting

Both leaders discussed political and security issues and the international matters with reference to Pakistan. The meeting comes on the heels of removal of Defence Secretary Lt Gen (r) Khalid Lodhi, whose post is generally considered as a bridge between the Army and the Government.The military and civil brass will also meet today at the Defence Committee of the Cabinet.Chief of the army staff General Ashfaq Kayani called on President Zardari in his office today, the presidents spokesman Farhatullah Babar said.He gave few details about the unscheduled meeting beyond that, saying the current security situation came under discussion.
