Summary US State Department has urged Pak civil and military rulers to resolve memo issue through dialogue.
During her briefing to the newsmen, US State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said that ‘memo-gate’ is Pakistan’s internal matter and I am not sure it is appropriate to discuss this issue.However, Victoria Nuland confirmed that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has received a letter from top US scholars, urging the Obama administration to ask Pakistan that United States is concerned about the security of former Pakistan ambassador Husain Haqqani.The US scholars in their letter said that Husain Haqqani is under intense pressure and his life is in dangers in the so-called memogate scandal.A segment of Pakistani media have presented Husain Haqqani as a traitor and it is feared that he will be targeted and killed just like Salman Taseer.Replying to a question Victoria Nuland said that she has no knowledge about Present Asif Ali Zardari’s visit to Dubai.
