Summary PML SG Mushahid Hussain left for Berlin to participate in an conference on Afghanistan after 2014.
The conference will include participants from Afghanistan, US, Germany, UK, China and India. This is the first major conference to be organized after the Bonn Conference last month, which Pakistan boycotted because of NATO bombing of the border Army check post.While the Bonn Conference was a governmental meeting, the Berlin Conference is a non-governmental initiative, but with some official participation from some countries.Mushahid Hussain will address the conference on Pakistans policy regarding Afghanistan, and the Islamic factor in the emerging regional scenario.Leading intellectuals, scholars and experts on Afghanistan and the region as well as diplomats and policy-makers will address the 3-day conference.
