Summary The MQM has submitted resolutions to NA for the creation of South Punjab and Hazara provinces.
Two separate resolutions were submitted to the National Assembly by 25 MNA’s for the formation of new provinces.The first resolution said that Hazara province should be created by including Mansehra, Abbotabad, Kohistan, Haripur, Batgram, and Toorgarh areas in it.In the second resolution, it has been suggested that a referendum should be conducted in south Punjab to know the public opinion about the name and geographical boundaries of the province.
