Summary Petroleum Minister Dr Asim announced enhancing gas rates for CNG and fertilizers from Jan 01.

On the other hand, the PML-N has announced launching a civil disobedience movement against gas loadshedding in Faisalabad.The Petroleum Minister told the National Assembly that use of CNG has increased by 47%. He said until CNG stations are closed, the problem would not resolve.He said that we would have to enhance usage of LPG.He said that Punjab is using 45% while Sindh is using only 44% despite producing 66% of gas.He said that gas is seldom in the country but all the CNG stations have been opened by the dint of a court stay order.Abid Shair Ali said that the PML-N would launch a civil disobedience movement from the 1st of January. He also warned that if gas pressure in not restored, they would not pay utility bills.The House also passed National Commission for Human Rights 2011 along with the Opposition’s amendment.
