Bilour confirms closure of 76 trains since 2008

Federal Railways Minister Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, while addressing at National Assembly floor, said that Taliban kept the situation smooth, the railway track from Peshawar to Jalalabad would be laid soon. The repair work on Peshawar-Landi Kotal railway track is underway, he said.The railway minister told the house that Railways income has stopped due to unavailability of engines. He said that he was not a property dealer who would run the railways by selling lands. The land worth Rs 100 million will be of worth Rs 500 million in future and people will hold me responsible, he said. He said that only 86 trains are functional now.
