Summary Aitzaz Ahsan says whatever the outcome of memo scandal may be, there is no threat to government.
Talking to Dunya News, the former SCBA president said that there are slight contradictions in the statements of the Pakistan Army, the Government and the ISI DG on the memo scandal. He said the PM and the President could not be held at gunpoint to bring about a change. He the President can only be removed through impeachment and the Pm through a no-confidence motion.He said if the Supreme Court, Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan are not interested in changing the government unconstitutionally, the third power cannot take over. He said President Zardari talked to him over the phone before leaving for Dubai, and sounded worried at that time. He said now when he spoke to the President in Dubai, he was sounding much better.To a question, Aitzaz said he would not join the PTI. I am in the PPP and will remain in the PPP, he said.
