Summary Dr Farooq Sattar said a new amendment is required for social contract and rights to minorities.

Addressing to a seminar, Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Dr Farooq Sattar said that a new social contract is required in the country that should be based on ideology enunciated by Quaid-e-Azam.He said that except chanting slogans and delivering speeches we have to take practical steps to make the country a place of peace not only for its citizens but also for the neighbours and for the people of this globe as well. He said that we are resilient nation.Federal minister said that true representation has not come in this country and country is being ruled by 2% elite class. He said that we have to change this system for our coming generations therefore we have to ensure that there should be no feudal lord in the next assembly of the country.He said we never think that why this country was created. We lost the key of progress which resulted into intolerance, injustice, trends of terrorism and fantism emerged here Farooq Sattar added.Farooq Sattar said that in our Islamic history we have example of our four Imams and none of them criticized each other nor given fatwa against each other.In contrary to that today factories are opened in our country where fatwas are being given against each other, minister added. He said that for peace and religious harmony we have to create patience in ourselves. He said that minorities should be given equal rights in the country and stimulate with each other for the progress of the country.Other participants including Zaheer Hashmi, Bishop of Lahore Irfan Jamil and Cannin Yaqoob said that inter religious harmony has become important in the current scenario and its importance has been realized among international community. They said that it is the burning issue in the world and father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam also emphasized upon inter faith harmony.They said what governments cannot, communities can and through desire, commitment and beliefs we can change the whole world and bring peace.
