Summary The JI chief Syed Munawar Hasan said the government is the biggest threat to survival of country.

Addressing the JI central workshop at Mansoora on Thursday, he said that President Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani had lost the right to rule, they must resign and announce fresh elections. However, he clarified that the nation would not accept any adventurer now.Syed Munawar Hasan said that after a decade of complete US slavery, even the rulers had joined the JI’s Go American Go drive. He counseled all other parties to come on roads against the US for the defense and solidarity of the country. He further said that efforts for the religious parties unity were going on, and a big alliance of political and religious parties could emerge before elections. He was confident that the JI public meeting at Peshawar on 18th and sit-in in the Punjab capital on December 25, would be a great success like the recent Rawalpindi meeting. The JI chief said that government had ruined all national institutions one by one and miserably failed to solve people’s problems, therefore, it had no moral right to remain in power. The masses were deprived of basic necessities of life, the future of the country was at stake, but the rulers were clinging to power most shamelessly and trying to befool the public, he added.Syed Munawar Hasan said that so far, the general public had been protesting due to load shedding but now WAPDA employees had come on roads against privatization of their institution. He said, corruption had eaten up major national institutions and the plans to destroy the PIA only to pave the way for an airline owned by a high ruling personality, were the talk of the town. As many as 18 planes had been ground and flights were being cancelled due to fuel shortage. At the same time, trains were not running due to non availability of fuel for engines. This was a serious joke in the present modern era, he remarked. The JI chief said that no political party could win the next elections in isolation and able to steer the country out of the present crises. He further said that the JI was considering all options including the revival of the MMA.He also exhorted the masses to change their voting attitude, avoid voting the parties who had pushed the country to the present mess, and instead elect honest, patriotic and competent leadership.
