Summary Adopting reconciliatory tone, PM said Pakistan wants relations with US on basis of mutual respect.

Addressing the media at the conclusion of the Envoys Conference in Islamabad, PM Gilani said that Pakistan however would not allow violation of its sovereignty and integrity. He said assured the envoys that their recommendations would be given a closer attention by the government.The PM said that Nato strikes targeted Pakistan’s national security, which cannot be tolerated at any cost. He said Pakistan has been playing its role for peace and stability in the region.He also reminded the world that Pakistan has been bearing the burden of Afghan refugees for a long time now. He said Pakistan has always worked to uphold the Un charter.He said South Asia is confronting numerous challenges. Pakistan has rendered tremendous sacrifices in the war on terror, he added.
