Summary Sindh Home Department issued orders to put MQM-H chairman Afaq Ahmad under house arrest for 30 days.
According to a notification issued from the Sindh Home Department, Afaq Ahmad would be kept under house arrest under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO). The Home Department issued the order to confine Afaq Ahmed under 16 MPO for one month.Earlier, a local Anti Terrorist Court ATC had accepted the bail plea of Afaq Ahmed and ordered his release but just after few hours the Sindh government issued notification of his house arrest refuting the court orders.According to sources, the law enforcement agencies had feared that Afaq Ahmed’s release could disturb law and order situation in the city because the MQM-Haqiqi had informed the police and government officials that they would reopen their office in Landhi, which would create law and order threats in the area.
