Ambassador Haqqani has gone into virtual hiding since his arrival to face music on memo issue, sparking many conspiracy theories in the federal capital.The Pakistani ambassador to Washington is accused of writing a memo to Mike Mullen on behalf of President Zardari so that he could put on “iron fist” on the table of Gene Kayani in the aftermath of OBL rain in Abbottabad. The man who broke the scandal, Mansoor Malik, said that President Zardari had only said to Hussain Haqqani to use his circle of friends in the US to avert any possible toppling of his government by the Pakistan military bosses.Since his return, Haqqani has only had two informal meetings with President Zardari. He was scheduled to meet the civil and military leadership to clarify his position, but the meetings have not taken place.Meanwhile, Federal Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan said that Haqqani would be meeting the civil and military leadership tomorrow (Tuesday). Haqqani will meet COAS Gen Kayani, DG ISI Gen Pasha and other military and civil leadership, including Prime Minister Gilani.
