Summary Rehman Malik has ruled out treason charges against Ambassador Hussain Haqqani in memo scandal.

Talking to media after attending Sindh cultural ceremony in Islamabad, the federal interior minister said that Haqqani he could not give satisfactory answer regarding Mansoor Ijaz, further investigation would be made. However, treason charges against the Pakistani envoy were out of the question, he added.Rehman Malik said evidence regarding plot to assassinate Benazir Bhutto are available. He said former president Pervez Musharraf was involved in the killing.Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that the assassinators would be punished soon. He further said that the government values the judiciary.To a question regarding Sharjeel Memon, he said that the issue is provincial and it is not appropriate to discuss the matter at federal level.
