Haqqani asked to explain controversial memo, PM tells NA

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said the explanation has been sought from Pakistan Ambassador to US Hussain Haqqani over the controversial memo.Speaking on the floor of the house PM said Ambassador must be given time to explain him position. ‘ISI is our institution and it would be defended. Friendship with US should be in respectful manner.While commenting on current political situation he said there would be no unconstitutional change in the country before 2013.Prime Minister Gilani warned that no ‘unconstitutional step’ of the opposition against an elected government will be tolerated.The session of the Lower House of the Parliament started at 10:30 am with the recitation of the Holy Quran.The session, which was scheduled to start at 10:00 am, began after a delay of 30 minutes under the chairmanship of Usman Khan Advocate, member panel of chairpersons.
