Summary The Supreme Court has sought explanation from Port Qasim Authority over illegal recruitments.
A two-member bench of Supreme Court comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain conducted hearing of the case pertaining to corruption committed in said project.The petitioner, ex-secretary of the Port Qasim Authority Abdul Jabbar Memon, told the court that the Federal Minister Ports and Shipping Babar Gauri illegally recruited 686 employees on verbal order after coming back to power, adding, “My expenses are also due since 2007.”The court has ordered the authority to pay all the due expenses to the petitioner. In this regard, summons has been issued to the federation and the Port Qasim Authority.
