Summary Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the government will complete its constitutional tenure.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Sunday that PPP-led government would complete its constitutional tenure and the shortcut seekers would have to wait for general election to be held on time.Talking to the media at Lalian village, the federal minister said that some leaders were harping song of early election in the country, actually they do not believe in democracy. The democratic institutions remained weak in the country due to this undemocratic approach, she added. She said that the PPP leadership was struggling to bring stability in the institutions and President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani were making efforts that the government and the parliament should complete their constitutional tenure. At this point, collective efforts were required to bring political stability, strengthen institutions and promote democracy in the country, she added.Dr Firdous said that government was planning to build a 4 megawatt electricity plant at Head Marala with the help of China, and the cabinet had given approval for the project.She said the provincial governments were fully authorized to undertake power generation projects in their respective provinces. She said that provincial governments should avail opportunities for initiating power projects to cope with energy crisis.
