Summary The CJP has said that no court will ratify any unconstitutional step to oust the government.

Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said any step taken by the armed forces without the direction of the federal government would be considered unconstitutional.Addressing to the participants of National Defence University course, the Chief Justice said that the Supreme Court declared in its July 31 verdict that anybody who would violate the constitution would be considered as traitor.He said that the judges of higher courts have written in their code of conduct that no judge will take oath under PCO.The CJP further said that the powers of the judiciary and the executive have been elaborated in the constitution so the institutions should refrain from intervening into each other’s domains.The Chief Justice said that no single person or institution can solely lead the nation to a right direction but only the collective effort by all the institutions and the nation can lead the country to a destination of hope and prosperity.
