Summary A moderate earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale was felt in various parts of Pakistan.
The tremors were felt in Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Gilgit and upper parts of the country. As per initial reports, the tremors were felt in other parts of Northern areas of Pakistan. Afghanistan too felt the shocks of the earthquake.On the other hand, according to American Geological Survey the magnitude of the magnitude of the quake was 5.5 however, the depth of the center was 200 which escaped life and property loss.The Hindukush mountain range in Tajikistan-Afghanistan border is believed to be epicenter of the quake.No damage to life and property has been reported so far. People on feeling the earthquake immediately rushed out of their houses.
