Summary Government decided to bring 20th amendment in parliament for raise in pension for judges widows.
The implementation on raise in pension would be in effective from 2010.According to official documents received by the Dunya News, the Cabinet was informed that pension of all the widows of government officials and soldiers was increased by 70% but the widows of Supreme Court and High Court judges remained deprived of this facility.The Law Ministry briefed the Cabinet that the judges’ widows wrote many letters for boost in pension. The Supreme Court also agreed to this suggestion and wrote to the government that the state pension of judges’ widows should be equalised with effect from last year.The government has prepared the 20th amendment to implement the court order. The bill would be submitted in the parliament after approval of the Cabinet.
