Summary Sindh government has lifted the ban on public rallies and processions in Karachi for two days.
Sindh government Saturday issued two notifications regarding ban on public gatherings in the metropolis.The provincial government issued a notification extending one month to the ongoing ban on public gatherings in the city; but a little later this notification was cancelled with another one lifting the ban for two days making allowances for a rally by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Sunday. The rally is meant to express solidarity with President Asif Ali Zardari.The rally has been called in protest to the use of unparliamentarily language against President Asif Ali Zardari during Shahbaz Sharif’s speech.Religious rites, funerals processions and those who have taken special permission from the Home Department are exempted from this ban.The Home Department had imposed a ban on rallies and processions on September 28.According to a Home Department notification, the ban will now be effective from October 31.
